It attaches magnetically to the case and adds a leather cover that opens sideways, right to left, like a book, held shut by a magnetic closure. Closed, it keeps the screen away from keys, coins and everything else that shares your pocket or bag. Open, it stays out of the way.
Because it is detachable, you are not choosing between a slim case and a covered one: you carry the V-Mag Grip on its own on light days and add the Folio Wrap when you want the screen protected. The Wallet Wrap is the other option for the same case, with five cards and a stand.
